Barenaked Ladies "One Week" was released in July of 1998. How do I know that? Because I spent that entire summer trying to learn the lyrics, believing I would be all that and a bag of Cape Cod potato chips if I was the only person able to recite the lyrics word for word. I failed miserably; even my little brother knew more words to the song than I did when all was said and done. And to top it all off, I remember the first week back to middle school that year hearing two girls singing every syllable of the song during the bus ride to school. Talk about a kick in the balls.
10 years later, I still don't know all the words, but I'm still working on it.
