Nas not getting dropped by label (surprise, surprise)

Rumors regarding rapper Nas being dropped by his record label over the title of his next album are reportedly false. Nas has been at the center of controversy since announcing his ninth studio album would be called Nigger. The story of the Queensbridge rapper being dropped was initially reported by Mediatakeover, who quoted an “insider” as saying “If Nas doesn’t change his mind, he’ll be dropped. And he doesn’t have to much time to come to that realization.” Nigger is tentatively scheduled for a February release.

As soon as you heard the rumours, you knew it wasn't true. Who drops Nas over an album title? I think Def Jam has a couple other artists that might hit the chopping block before Nas, like Mic Little....woof. Do you really think people aren't going to buy an album because it's called Nigger? I'll be one of the first people in line on that release date, eager for a breath of fresh air in hip hop.

I Am.
Josh
