Cody Chestnutt - The Headphone Masterpiece
Released in 2002, Chestnutt recorded the entire album at home on a 4-Track recorder. The album is mostly made up of funky, neo-soul, hip/hop jams. (Or in short its pretty eclectic). He was actually the original mastermind behind The Roots hit "The Seed (2.0)". The original version of "The Seed" is on this album. The Album is a double, and if you have the option for less money, just purchase the first disc. The only thing worth listening to on the second disc is "Look Good In Leather". Be cautious, this album can be a little "strange" at times.
Songs to check out - "Bitch I'm Broke", "Ustarts in a blowout", and "The Seed"
Rhett Miller - The Instigator
Miller is the lead singer of the Old 97's. in 2002 he released The Instigator. An album full of catchy pop hits. Its sort of like Ryan Adams mixed with Jack Johnson, if that makes sense. This is definitely the safer bet between the two albums. Chestnutt's album has some quirks, where as Miller's album is straight money!
Songs To Check Out - "World Inside a World", "Things That Disappear", and "Come Around"
