Tuesday's New Releases

The best selling album of all-time tries making a comeback today as Michael Jackson's Thriller is being reissued as a 25th Anniversary Edition. It's pretty rare to see a reissue loaded with as much contemporary appeal as this one. Kanye West, Will.I.Am, Akon and Fergie all contributed in various capacities for the birthday gift. The single that apparently helped hype the album is a new version of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" featuring Akon and Big Will. Has anybody heard this supposed single? Wouldn't it have been a good idea to bring Mr. Jackson to the Grammys for an appearance and album plug? Way to spread the word, guys.

It only took 4 years, but Simple Plan drops their third studio album. Where ya been, boys? Probably livin' the groupie highlife up there in Montreal. The album is also available as a limited-edition deluxe digipak with a bonus DVD featuring a documentary, behind-the-scenes clips and more.

Kylie Minogue also hits us with her first major release in almost 4! years. I'm sure this release isn't going to tickle you're funny bone either. It's a slow week for new music.

The only good news is, we can expect the yearly sales boost associated with the Grammys. Herbie Hancock's sales are primed to rise 500% with a possible 750 people buying his album! Here's to Alicia Keys reclaiming the #1 position on the charts.

And as always....digging through the bargain bins,
Josh
