Broken Bells Create Best Album of 2010

Collaboration at it's finest. All too often, when artists of different genres come together to create, one person's music completely overpowers the other, resulting in some sort of muddled and forgettable piece of music. That certainly isn't the case with Broken Bells, made up of artist/producer Danger Mouse and Shins lead singer James Mercer.

This collaboration truly is 50-50. The futuristic/soulful instrumentals produced by Danger Mouse pair absolutely perfectly with the free spirited vocals of Mercer. I haven't been this excited about an album since the release of MGMT's Oracular Spectacular in 2007. And we all know how that one went down.

The Broken Bells album is set for release March 9th on Columbia.. And don't expect this to be a one-off attempt. The guys have already made it clear that a second album will be in the works. Here's "Vaporize" off the self-titled album.
