"I saw her dancing with the devil and he was wearing my shoes"
The Heavy's album, Great Vengeance and Furious Fire, had me hooked in 2007, but their latest release, The house That Dirt Built, is like something I've never heard. 1/3rd Bo Diddley and 2/3rds Gnarls Barkley, The Heavy cook up some intoxicating guitar riffs, reverberating bass lines, and vocals that will challenge any genre they decide to take on. They chop beats from the likes of Bo Diddley, Little Walter and The Parliaments and fuse them with their now patented brand of high grade dirt.
After convincing everyone at SXSW (and playing alongside MGMT at a playboy party) indie label's jumped. It won't be long before these Brits find major label love here in the U.S.
