LIVE: Detox Retox @ Rock & Roll Hotel

Detox Retox are tight. And I'm not talking overused 90's slang that your "cool" uncle uses. I mean these guys have got everything together on stage. I went into this show knowing little about the band and by the time they finished their set, I was begging for more. Singer Michael Parker and his classy, vintage, grandfatheresque sweater (I hope he has a rotating stock) led the 4-piece D.C. outfit through a 45 minute set that kept the crowd dancing and hands in the air the entire time. And the "encore" chant seemed never-ending as Detox Retox walked off stage. When it was clear the crowd wasn't stopping, Parker hit the stage to explain, "We'd love to play some more for you guys, but we don't know any more songs! Let's drink!" And the party continued, with the band being bombarded left and right from fans high-fiving and congratulating. Detox Retox bring a modern rock atmosphere, built for radio, and combine it with an upbeat personality that keeps you engaged the entire time. Listen to their entire EP Movement at their bandcamp.
